Tulpade pealkirjade tähendused

Teenuse nimi - Millise nimega on teenus näidatud Teenuste (Services) Kontrollpaneelis.
Protsessi nimi - Millise nime all käivitub teenus taustal (kuvatud Task Manager` i aknas st aknas mis ilmub peale Ctrl+Alt+Del vajutamist).
Vaikimisi Home - Windows XP Home`il vaikimisi käivitatud teenused.
Vaikimisi Pro - Windows XP Professional`il vaikimisi käivitatud teenused.
Kindel seadistus - Selle seadistusega pole 95% tõenäosusega mingeid kõrvalmõjusid või siis on neid äärmiselt vähe. Hea algus kohandamaks jooksvaid teenuseid just enda arvutile vastavaks.
Jõudlik seadistus - Sobilik mängimiseks, võrguühenduseks ja faili- ja printimise jagamiseks. Mõned funktsioonid ei pruugi töötada, paroole ei salvestata. Antud seadistus ei sobi analoogmodemiga arvutitele ja mõnede DSL/kaabel ühendustele. Soovitav on proovida esmalt "kindlat" seadistust.
Paljad luud - Antud seadistus ühendub internetti läbi teise arvuti või ruuteri kasutades staatilist IP aadressi. Faili ja printimise jagamine on blokeeritud nagu ka printimine ja parooli salvestamine. Antud seadistus ei sobi analoogmodemiga arvutitele ja paljudele DSL/kaabel ühendustele. Soovitav kasutada ainult äärmuslikel tuunijatel ja testijatel. Paljud toimingud on piiratud või blokeeritud. Integreeritud CDR-RW teenus ei pruugi samuti töötada.

Seadistuste tähendused

Automatic (A) - Teenus stardib Windowsi bootimisel. Väga vähesed teenused, kui neid enam ei vajata, võivad ka automaatselt seiskuda.
Manual (M) - Teenus stardib ainult siis, kui Windows seda vajab. Esineb ka juhte, et teenus siiski ei satardi "manual" seadistusega - seega, kui leiad, et teenuse käivitamine on vajalik, seadista teenuse startimine automaatseks (automatic).
Disabled (D) - Seadistus blokeerib teenuse käivitamise ka siis, kui teenuse käivitamine vajalik on.
Installimata (I) - Teenus ei ole antud SP puhul installeeritud.
